Mono Locco, 2022
This Fabergé egg was originally thought up by some of the great Stylists over at Mono Locco, but was ultimately designed by our combined forces. The egg was created in Maya LT with an emphasis on soft curves, realistic proportions and edge flow within the geometry. The UV's began as early as the low-poly modeling stage and were all completed in Maya LT. The baking process was completed in Marmoset 3, with the exception of the Mixed Ambient Occlusion map which was baked directly before texturing in Substance. Once the 4k textures were exported back into Marmoset Toolbag from Substance Painter, the scene was set up with the egg in the center. It was at this point we decided to add animation to the egg, so I created a basic, three armed rig that would allow the object to open and close revealing the banana on the inside. The animations were synced on a turn table in Marmoset and rendered out from there. The total creation time was around 16 hours for the model and 4 hours for the rig, animation and finalizing the turntable scene. This model was created remotely. Table was created after the fact in a similar fashion.
